I’ve seen this done on the TLC channel where midwives have induced a woman’s labor by pumping their breasts. Is this just as effective as using Pitocin? Are the contractions as consistent as Pitocin?
I know labor hurts but Pitocin hurts like hell because there is no gradual escalation to the pain. It comes all at once. My doctors says we can try pumping breast.
I’d like to know if anyone has tried this method of induction and how successful was it?

Has anyone used this method? How safe is it? Where can you get the oil? Here is a website for those of you who like me never heard of it before:

Thanks!
I’m not trying to induce labor, I’ve just heard this is great for rippening the cervix and when your body is ready for you to dilate it helps your cervix along.

i’m sure we all know someone who claims to have gone on a bumpy car ride at 37 weeks and it put them into labor. i’m looking to make a list of all the things that supposedly help you induce labor at home. nothing dangerous, but my dr. says the baby is full term at 37 weeks and this is #3 for me and i’m SO ready to be done with this pregnancy. i’m so uncomfortable, my back hurts all the time and i’m just ready to be done. i’ll start trying anything! tell me your stories!

I am 40 weeks and 5 days. This is my second child. My first child I had gestational diabetes and was induced at 38 weeks 5 days. It was a really intense labor that resulted in a c section. My husband and I are trying to avoid being induced by pitocin again. I am scheduled for an induction on the 5th and have tried every natural method of induction ( that wont potentially harm) and nothing has worked. I recently read about eating unripe papaya for an induction. Just wondering if anyone has tried this and had success with it. Ive read of sex, nipple stimulation, accupressure, walking, exercising, house work, is there anything else that I am missing? Ive tried all of these oh yeah and the dreaded castor oil…which i dont recommend. I also have had my membranes stripped twice.. im at my whits end. Does anybody have ANY success stories that I am missing? Just trying to avoid the pitocin induction. The clock is ticking.

I just don’t want to do anything that is going to cause me more pain than necessary. I know if you do nipple stimulation wrong it can cause more pain and I am wondering if the same is true for acupressure. And if you have tried it did it help? Any suggestions? (40 weeks 5 days)
