Like all women at the end of there pregnancy I am very anxious to get this baby out and hold her in my arms. I had an appt today and doctor told me I am ready to go, I am 2 cm dialated and my cervix has thinned 50%. I have heard so many tales about inducing labor and have tried a few, like having sex, walking, bumpy car rides, and a few other excercises. None have worked so far which is okay, because it may not be my time yet. I have heard Castor Oil works for many women, but I am scared to try it because of some of the effects I have heard. For instance, being on the toilet alot. If that is true how long does the loose bowels last and approx how long will it be for me to start feeling contractions? Are there any other effects that I should know? Is it harmful and will my doctor be mad if I try this technique?

IM not trying to start labor only wondering how effective it is in helping early labor be more effective. How long should I do it?

When is inducing labor a good idea? And is it really more painful for the mother? Are there dangers for the baby? My first baby was big and we had problems delivering him, ended up in ICU. I’m expecting baby #2 and expect another big baby and want to discuss my options with my doctor tomorrow. Anyone have suggestions/advice on inducing early? Thank you

She has until the 14th to give birth. If not, they will need to do a C-section on her. We of course do not want that. This is our 4th child. The first was a C-section and the last two have been normal. We are looking for any kind of home remedy or proven method to help move this process along. We have been told walking alot helps. A C-section now will not help us out. Please share any tips or remedies you have or know work to help bring on labor. We are ready for this baby to be born.

I took about 4 tablespoons full of castor oil almost three hours ago and nothings happened.I’m 39 weeks pregnant and more than ready for baby! I have heard if it doesn’t make you go into labor it’ll almost always give you horrilble cramps and diarrhea, but absolutely nothing has happened, no side effects what so ever. Should I take more?

I’m 39 weeks and three days pregnant and I am extremely uncomfortable. I am ready for this baby to come NOW! My doctor just stripped my membranes to jump start labor has anyone out there had this done and if so how soon did you go into active labor? I am already 4 cm dilated. Does anyone know of any techniques that will jump start labor that I can try? Any advice is welcome. Thank-you.
