full term and want to start

EPO or Evening Primrose Oil. Take two daily and insert 2 vaginally in the evening beginning at 37wks, or have your partner massage the oil into your cervix. EPO has precursers to prostagladin which helps rippen ones cervix. have used these methods to bring on labor with my last two children, and have worked as an aprentice midwife.

i found this when researching it, it was an answer to inducing, I was wondering is this effective, I have heard that castor oil can cause bowel movement in baby but when i researched this it was due to the mother becoming dehydrated which caused it to go to the baby not because castor oil had been taken, all the same I will not take this but am considering evening primrose oil as a way of maybe self inducing when i am term…?? what are your experiences and is this true and effective?xxx
also how long does it roughly take and how many would you take or did you twake to bring on labour??xx

you know how woman say that castor oil induces labor because it gives you diarrhea which stimulates the uterus to have contractions i was wondering would epsom salts do the same thing as they give you diarrhea as well? like is that the only thing castor oil does to induce labor? im not going to do this as i am due to have a c-section after the weekend so i don’t need to try it i was just wondering.

My sister is due today and wants the hospital to induce her labor. The baby is very healthy, she is due today and she is in a lot of discomfort.

Im presently 37 wks and my doctor is going to induce at 38 wks 5 days due to a rare bleeding disorder i have and risk of c-section with a large baby. I have heard that labor is much more painful when you are induced. is this true? has anyone had one labor induced and other’s not?
Wasn’t planing on having the epidural.. baby’s head is enganged i have been dilated to a 2 for 2 weeks and i am 95/5 effaced. with a buldging water bag.

just thought I would ask if anyone that took this how much longer after did you go into labor?
okay i wasn’t wanting to use it for one and no I havn’t asked this question already. check my Q&A’s! and I was just wondering cause I read it on another questions answer board.just asking dont freakin flip out!
oh and I’m also 34 weeks and have my own risks of being induced i dont need to use castor oil!

I’m 38 weeks with baby #4. Dilated 2cm but my cervix hasn’t thinned out much. I’d LOVE to know any tips/advice on things that could help bring on labor. I have an induction scheduled but would LOVE to avoid all the unnatural drugs on that route. I’ve heard about castrol oil, I’m actually kind of scared to try that. I hear BAD things about it. I know walking & sex are ways, all of those I’ve been doing! Anything else would be great….thanks!

I was 1 cm dilated saturday night, today is tuesday… I have an appt toommorrow to be checked… How can I become more dilated?? Or even start labor again. I believe sex threw me into the this weekend but it just stopped after so long of contracting… and no waterbreaking.

I am 38 weeks pregnant and want to have my lil girl, its my 1st pregnancy. my aunt told me to try castor oil, she used it with her 1st n 3rd kids and within 4hrs she was in labor. i know it works for some and others it just gives ya sumtime with you bathroom. so wonder wat ppls experience with it has been. thanks
