im 39 wks pregnant & apart from ‘having sex’ what other methods have worked for you to bring on labour naturally??

not this pregnancy but i have before.

i think its stupid alot of women on here disagree with castor oil

if your body isnt ready to go into labor, castor oil isnt going to work.

but if it is, and your baby is ready, and you are full term, I think people on here should not be so harsh to judge about castor oil.

the fact is, women have been using castor oil to induce labor for over 100 years- ;maybe way longer!!

if you are 38 weeks and stuck dilated to a uncomfortable number, when you are expecting a 8 or 9 lb baby….why wouldnt you take castor oil?

ive known women who were 39 weeks pregnant and stuck dilated to 4 or 5 and the doctor refused to induce because there was no medical reason.

women can get epidural dilated to 4 so why cant they take castor oil.

give it up castor oil haters, it DOES WORK when you are ready!
anyone know of a baby died after a woman took castor oil and she went into labor? probably not, i didnt think so!

I’m 39 weeks and 3 days with my first baby. I’m desperate to get him out and was wondering if nipple stimulation has really worked for anyone. If so, how exactly do you do it? Thanks.

How far along do you have to be before sex can help cause labor to start?

Has anyone taken 1 or 2 oz of castor oil to start labor. I know of friends doctors and midwifes that actually suggested this. Does it work or did it for you and how long.

and what did you put with it to make it taste nice??
ps I know its too early for me but I want to be prepared for if I go over

I have 3 children (14,12 and 3 ) I am pregnant with our 4th and am all set with being pregnant already. With my second child I did do the castor oil and it was disgusting and didn’t help at all. ( just made a mess) My children’s weights were 7.8 , 7.13 , and lastly 9.4 . I KNOW this baby is a biggie and I am not wanting to wait the next few weeks for nature. Any ideas? Has anyone ever checked their cervix for effacemant / dialation? I was 80% effaced and only 1cm dailated last week. ( according to the doc.) Now I want to check.

i get so nervous that my water is going to break or i am going to start labor while at work, i am 37 weeks now, yesterday i had to be checked and i was dilated 2.5 which was a centimeter more than i was 4 days before when i had my cerclage removed, so i know i am making progress, anyway my question is, do i work all the way up until its time or should i take my leave a little early, i get 8 weeks off, i am just curious as to how some of you did it

it would move things along if i was up and moving around, but i sit all day long, which is more uncomfortable because she is so low and completely engaged in my pelvic and the rest of her is completely in my ribs when i sit
HA its pretty much uncomfortable all the way around, i had my first at 30 weeks after being on bedrest in the hospital for two months, i’m not use to all this, its all new…

my 16 year old girlfriend is 39 weeks pregnant and getting really uncomfortable. i love her and hate seeing her like this. we were talking and she said that there were natural ways to induce labor but she didn’t know any of them. could you guys help us out with them, we need some ways to induce her labor, and we know sex but its uncomfortable for her to be on her back so what are other positions we could try? thanks!

Why not just let nature take its course?
Might sound like a dumb question but I’ve never been pregnant. Got a co-worker who is 2 days past her due date and we were all just talking about it here at work. Thanks for responding!! ^_^
