I am 37 weeks pregnant with #2 here, I am having mutiple braxton-hicks contractions daily, and today I am having backpains really bad when I set on the couch. I had my first child early so never had any of these expirences it seems. I have had no *bloody show*, but am wondering if it could be getting close to time to start labor. Baby’s movement today is MUCH more than yesterday too. I live an hour away from the hospital (with no traffic) and am only going to that one for a VBAC. When you live away from the hospital, how do you know when to go also?
Edit/Details: I didn’t have a real labor last time, my water broke at 35 1/2 weeks and they induced me, which lead to an emergancy c-section because my daughter was a bungee-cord baby. I have never felt what I am feeling now, so I am a bit confused. I did call the doctor, they said unless it is regular don’t bother coming in. Traffic is light today atm so we are not worried about getting there yet heh. I guess I am worse than a 1st time mom because I have no clue but already have a baby. Not having regular contractions atm just light back pain when I sit down, and more baby movement than usual. Braxton-hicks remain regular every 20 min with no pain, just pressure, but that has been the case for 2 weeks now.

so my mom was at a meeting for her work and the people asked her if i had my baby yet and she said no and they said u should try macoroni and cheese with A1 steak sauce,they said it works.so i searched it and the website i was on said it works too.has any1 tried it and if so did it work?

I am 39 weeks pregnant and last night I woke up about 6 times, because of a persistent cramping/aching feeling in my lower abdomen. This feeling has lasted all day long, as well as a constant dull ache in my lower back, no matter what position I am in. If you experienced this, how soon after did you go into labor?

(Not to mention, I am already 2cm dilated, totally effaced, baby’s head is at a 0 station, and I have lost my mucous plug. WHEN is this labor going to start??)

am 35wks and 5 days…dr said that if i dont go on my own by 37wks that they are prob gonna induce me!!! I have already had steroids for the babies lungs so they are mature enough….any good ideas to induce labor on my own??

My dr said the baby is def healthy enough to come now(already 8lbs)..they pretty much said that my due date is off by 2wks(making me 37wks and 5days!!!
They are gonna induce at 37 b/c he is huge, has already had steriods for his lungs, and i naturally had my daughter @ 37wks and she was fine!!!
Well i think that i will take medical advise from my dr and the fetal med team that we are working with that consists of 10drs…rather than someone on here that thinks they know everything!

in pregnancy i heard women trying out spicy curry and/or castor oil to induce labour because it makes the uterus to contract and acts like a laxative,they both work in the same way by giving you the runs and needing the loo,my question is if they both do the same thing why is castor oil not recommended and considered dangerous and baby also having bowel movements,well don’t curry do the same to they baby?

Preferably exercises.
My doc said he’ll only induce me if I am 14 days passed my due date. I don’t want to use anything like castor oil because I have heard stories of it causing horrible diarrhea/vomiting. So I’m staying clear from that! I will try the walking and exercising on the yoga ball. Thanks

I went to the hospital with sever contractions. I found out that they were finally thinning my cervix. I am about 2 cm Dilated and 50% effaced. I cannot take not being able to fall asleep without contracting. The doctors told me I was ok to go home and come back in when they are really intense. I can still feel the contractions but they are not as painful as before. How Can I continue with the labor process?
I have heard that Castor Oil works when you are dilated and effaced. Does it matter how dilated and effaced you are?
I have also heard that having sex can help too, the semen acts as a thinning agent. But please, with my huge stomach, I am not really in the mood and I dont think my man is able to even get aroused with the baby coming anytime.
What about that Acupressure?
I am just ready, and the baby is ready according to the doctor. I am just not dilating as fast and I want to jump start that.

The doctor didnt induce because I told her I dont want to be unless medically needed. My water hasn’t broken yet and I still have a few days before the actual due date. I have heard many different sides for Castor Oil, and knowing my luck I would get the bad side of it without any results. I just want to know more safe methods than anything. The doctor isnt going to strip my membranes because I went from being 0% effaced to 50%effaced in two days.

my doctor is being a butt. He says the baby should come in a few days but I’m tiered of waiting… Help!!

Ok sorry if this is gonna be long I am 36 weeks pregnant today and am due on February 17th. A last minute major change on where my baby is going to be delivered has come up. So I been being seen by my midwife my whole pregnancy and has been going good, I was supposed to deliver the baby @ the hospital here where I live. Well my boyfriend (father of my child) has a bleeding disorder called Vons Wille Brans Disease there is a 50% chance of my baby being born with this same bleeding disorder. Well it just happened that my boyfriend got hurt and was bleeding internally. His blood doctor seen that I was expecting and asked where I was going to deliver my baby, so I told him there @ that hospital. He said he didn’t think that hospital was equipt enough to deliver a baby that has a 50% chance of being born with this bleeding disorder. He said he would not feel comfortable taking care of a baby with the bleeding disorder since he only works on adults that we need a blood doctor for children. So I called up to the city next to us and there is a blood doctor there for babys-kids. He said it is rare that the baby would be born bleeding I should be fine to deliver where I live and if anything was wrong they would just have to fly the baby up to him. So everything was set and ok that I was going to still deliver where I live since the blood doctor for babys the doctor that would be caring for my baby if the baby come out sick said go ahead and deliver here where I live. Well my boyfriends doctor took it upon himself to call my midwife and advised her not deliver my baby here and changed her mind she no longer wants to deliver the baby here. So I found a doctor in the next city where the babys blood doctor is and he would deliver me there. Only thing is he would induce me on the 16th of February im due the 17th. This is my 1st baby what are the chances of me going into labor before my due date? I’m afraid to start labor here where I live before then and my baby come out sick and they would have to fly him up to the next city. How far along were first time moms when there labor started on it’s on how close to your due date? The doctor said because it is my first baby it is really rare that I would go into labor before my due date.
