i’ve been told that castor oil works to induce labor n to help bring it on a little but does it have any harm towards my babys in any way

Im 39.2 weeks pregnant. Two and a half centimeters, babys head is down and killing my bones! I am having the tightenings have been all day. Am I in any stage of labor, or do the stages involve being in the hospital?

I plan on asking the doctor for a membrane sweep tomorrow at my appointment.
This not being able to walk thing is killing me…Sorry Ive been complainng all day about how to start labor.but ugh, I think im having one of those BAD days.

When I had my son in 2004, I was induced at 41.5 weeks. I got the Cervidil on a Friday afternoon, and was to stay overnight to start the Pitocin the next day. But the Cervidil did the trick and threw me into full labor within 2 hours and I didn’t need the Pitocin at all.

I’m pregnant now, due to deliver in February and I’ve been doing some research on Cervidil, but can’t find the answer I’m looking for – is Cervidil only given in a hospital, under medical staff supervision, once you’re admitted? Or is there a possibility that my doctor might be ok with getting it prescribed for ONLY if I am overdue again and I can administer it at home and hope it takes the same effect as with my first labor and I can labor at home until I’m ready to go to the hospital?

I plan to ask my doctor this week at my appointment, but I’m curious now and thought maybe someone could share some knowledge.

The only thing I heard it can do that is questionable is cause the baby to have a BM in the womb…. which is something I have heard is normal for women who take pitocin…

Any thoughts/insights/experiences/knowledge/advice

39 weeks and 3 days… ready to pop! I am a vbac and weary of taking pitocin due to its possible complications of rupture of scar…… so they say I would most likely be a C section if I do not start labor on my own… so I am looking for natural inductions

Ok so at 33 weeks i went into preterm labor…was given 2 shots to stop and 2 steroid shots for baby! Last week on Friday my contractons were 5 min apart dilated to 1 1/2 and 50% effaced. Lastnight had really bad back pain and milky white/clear discharge. Been feelin weird cramping or something in vaginal/pubic area..How much longer do u think til I start actual labor?

I do not feel my contractions- i guess i am a lucky one- i never felt them with my first either! EVEN IN FULL BLOWN LABOR!
