I am pregnant with my 4th child. With my other 3 I had to be induced because my body would not go into labor on it’s own. However, with my 3rd child, I was induced a few days before my due date because of his size. I heard that there are types of acupuncture for pregnant women. I watched a show yesterday where a woman had acupuncture and within a day, she went into labor and she was more relaxed for the labor and delivery. I have hard labors with my pregnancies, probably because of the amount of pitocin that I need to get my labor going. I would really like to try something different this time. I want to be able to labor some at home instead of having to find a way to get comfortable in the hospital. Can anyone give me any ideas or tell me if I have any options, such as the acupuncture?
My first child was 14 days overdue before I was induced and my 2nd was 10 days overdue. They both were over 9 lbs, and pretty big. This is rough on me because I am normally 5′2" and around 145 lbs. I have a somewhat small frame. I was induced 3 days before my due date with my 3rd and he weighed 8 lbs 9 oz. My dr would like me to have this baby before 39 weeks because my last labor was so hard on me, but she doesn’t think I need a c-section.

please help! i want to go into labor naturally and NOT be induced. but my doc does not want to work with me on this. i have no medical reasons that he can give me for induction (he is all about convenience….hes tried to get me induced since 37weeks since we could chose a good time for everyone). well yesterday, he set me up for induction on monday morning (today is my due date…so only 5 days over due if im induced monday) and i agreed ONLY cuz he said he thought i got pre eclampsia…which i found out today from test results that I DO NOT have it. so now whats the reason for induction? so i want to cancel but he doesnt want to do that. im not sure if he can pressure me into doing this or what but if he cant give me a medical reason i dont want to do it PERIOD! so now im trying to find out about home remedies for inducing labor. any of these help? nipple stimulation, sex, walking, spicey foods? mainly i want to know about castor oil? i just found out recently about this and want to know if youve tried it and worked? i know about the risks of these BUT there is also risks of giving me the drug to induce labor that the doc is giving me monday. so please keep your negative comments and just help if you can =)
thanks soooo much!
this is my second child and my first had to be induced for medical reasons (he wasnt getting enough from me on the inside at 38 weeks). so ive been thru induction and know its not that bad…i just prefer to go naturally if possible this time around. of course if its medically needed then i will…but for now (due today) there really is no reason at this point. thanks for all the answers!! sex and walking is painful for me right now but weve been trying lol. thats why i want to know about castor oil.

Has anyone attempted to induce their own labor using primrose oil/castor oil/nipple stimulation, or anything else? I’ve just been reading into it, and wondering if any of it actually really works? If you tried any methods of induction, did it work or not?

I have a cat that started labor at 11 last night. She has had 2 kittens so far and has at least 4 more inside her. Her labor was interrupted due to two male cats fighting outside and it has been 10 hours since her last birth. Her labor has completely stopped which from what I understand is normal if they become stressed about something but I want to know if there is a way to speed up the process of her resuming labor? I have no vehicle in which to take her to the vet for oxytocin so I am mainly looking for home remedy ideas. Thanks
