My due date is in 6 days, had a Dr appt today and the peanut is pretty settled in…. mild contractions on and off… yes i know she’ll come when she’s ready but with an induction date looming for next week i’d like to try some things at home. I bought castor oil, but afraid to take it. Been walking, having sex etc. Just wondering if anything worked for anyone else?

I am tired of being pregnant. I’m of small stature and my baby is an average sized baby, so I’m in pain every time he moves… And he NEVER stops unless I’m having braxton hicks. My husband doesn’t want to "Induce" because he’s so worried it will harm the baby despite what the Dr tells him, and I really don’t want to make him uncomfortable… It is his baby too. Has anyone tried anything that helped them? Of course I get can him to do the one thing everyone says works… Sex. I don’t know a man who would turn it down at any time. But also is there anything I can try while he is at work? I’m home ALL day while he works, and I’m always too tired for sex when he gets home. I’m exhausted from a day with kids. (TODAY I AM KID FREE- MY KIDS ARE AT THEIR G-MA’s AND THE KIDS I BABYSIT ARE ON A BOAT WITH THEIR PARENTS) So… Any Tips?
I’m sure I can handle another week and I’ll never think about it again after the baby is here, but NOW I am miserable and desperate. Anything that could cause my water to break, or contractions to start up, and when they start something to KEEP them going? Walking & Baths only CALM my contractions and make them stop, so those won’t work

if i request being induced a week early because my fiancee works at a hospital so its VERY hard for him to get off work unless its one of the two days out of the week his off plus i live by myself 20 mins from family and friends so im afraid im going to go in labor at home by myself and be stuck there.
what do you think my chances of eig induced at 39 weeks are?

I was having contractions 4 minutes apart on Sunday so I went to the hospital, they kept me for 10 hours I dialted to 4cm but then they told me that they wouldnt induce me because I was only 38 weeks and gave me morphine to stop the contractions and I went home and they havent come back since. I have a check up today, what are the chances of being like 5 or 6 when the doc checks me, what will they do, send me to the hospital or nothing since my water hasnt broken?? This is my first and I am so anxious, my son is healthy and big so i know he is ok, I just want him to make an appearance. Anyone have this happen to them and what was the outcome. Will I walk around like this for 2 more weeks!

My due date is July 29. My OB has scheduled an induction for the 28th. I asked why, and she told me that it is standard operating procedure for older mothers. I’m 40.
However, I’ve also done research and looked at all of the risk factors, and this has been a completely normal pregnancy – I’ve gained exactly the right amount of weight, gone to regular appointments, take my prenatal vitamins; I do not have diabetes or high blood pressure (in fact, it’s been very steady at 100 over 60 throughout).
It is starting to appear as if this is being scheduled for the convenience of the physicians, so they can induce labor, deliver the baby, and be home in time for dinner. If it weren’t for the downsides of induction, I wouldn’t have a problem with it, but an induction greatly increases the risk of having to have a C-section as well as the risk of both mother and infant contracting infections.
What to do?
