Does walking really induce labor…or does it merely speed things up if you are already in labor?
If walking does indeed induce labor, how much did you walk before you went into labor?

Kind of both. It helps get the baby in position. However, it’s more likely to speed up labor (or end it if it is false labor). It helps get contractions going if you are in labor, so it speeds things up.
No it does not – it can help if your already in labor
It doesn’t induce labor
Never worked for me! The baby is only going to come when it is ready (or if induced) It works for when you are already laboring. It helps the baby come down your pelvis.
you need to be in labor in order for that to work. contractions and all. walking around gets the baby into position, opens up a little more, etc. it doesnt induce labor, just helps speed it along if its going a bit slow.
Walking does not induce labour, if this was the case, most babies would be born early, because most pregnant women walk!
Walking may only help get the baby into position, that’s about it. Might help a slow labour progress…but it doesn’t put you into labour from nowhere.
Yes, it speed up the labor process when your in labor already. Walking help you dialate faster. Jump, run and squat. The hospital will tell you the same thing. You should be checked for dialation every hour on the hour.
If walking induced labor, women would be put on permanent bedrest during pregnancy. Walking only helps things along once you are already in labor.
