how can I induce labor without castor oil?

My OB refuses to induce my labor at 39 and a half weeks! The baby is well over 8 lbs according to the sono. He states inducement is not reccomended by the amer.college of gyn and ob. If I was asking at 37 weeks,I could understand but 4 days from my due date?I am so scared of c section for this big baby. I have 2 kids the last one induced with no problems. both natural. What can I to get him out!!!!!

My last baby was 8lb 10 and I delivered her naturally but I could definitely tell the difference as my first was only 7lb 10. You definitely can’t rush babies though, they like to come out when they are good and ready but there are a few things that can help get things going. If you are delivering naturally then sex is definitely a good one for inducing labour. Also going for a long walk if you can but make sure that someone is with you in case you do go into labour while walking. My midwifes motto for getting labour started was "Hot sex, Hot food, Hot bath." I never got a chance to try any of these though as both of mine were 4 days early so you never know, if you are getting this sick of being pregnant then chances are baby could be here any day. They don’t always wait till the day they are supposed to but good luck to you anyway! Hope all goes well

Google Blue or Black Cohosh, I took one of the two (can’t remember which one) and it induced my labor and I had my son the same day.
My ob-gyn told me to use evening primrose oil. they come in gel-capsules. what you do is take a capsule. insert it into your vagina (as close to your cervix as you can get) before you go to bed and make sure you pop the capsule open and try to rub it on the cervix, if not possible just leave the whole capsule in. i did this and when i woke up i lost my mucus plug and then had my baby within 2 days. i did this along with red rasberry tea…hope this helps. you can buy it at a vitamin store. i dunno where you live but i bought mine at wegmans.
when my sister had my nephew, to have him early she had a lot of sex and did a lot of walking. she said that she thinks that having sex is what caused her son to come early.
theres nothing that is 100% effective on iducing labor yourself unless its by a doctor. but there are things you can try. look up accupressure ive heard it works. also walking alot reallly helps according to many women. Thats all i can really say that would help but im not for sure it would since ive never tryed it. but i give you the best of luck on your little one :]. I hope there happy and healthy. congratz.
