I was at my dads house for Mothers day and I kept complaining about my back hurting. I was getting a lot of "braxton hicks" contractions and generally uncomfortable. That night it took me forever to fall asleep. My husband was all nervous thinking this was it. Next morning, I woke very early…still having contractions. I passed the plug and then I knew for sure. When my husband got up I told him to walk the dog and I would call my doctor. The number was busy forever so we decided (contractions 3-5 minutes apart) to stop at her office on the way to the hospital. At the doctors they laughed and told me to have a seat. The doctor said she would have a look but I most likely will be going home to wait it out. To her surprise (I guess I handle pain well) I was 6 cm dilated and she told me to rush to the hospital, she would meet me there. Got there at 11:30 in the morning was in heavy labor by 1:30 (I was going natural and wanted to change my mind at that time but they said too late) My son was born at 3:30 on the actual due date.
Congratulations!
I had braxton hicks contractions from 25 weeks on that were uncomfortable but not that bad. The day I had my son I felt bad cramping (like period cramps but much worse) I lost my mucous plug (which was very gross and very obvious and had some bleeding with it) within 8 hrs of losing my mucous plug I stood up from the couch and my water broke (and I mean BROKE it was like someone punctured a 5 gallon fish tank) from that point on the contractions were very strong and 5-7 minutes apart. Went to the hospital around 7 am and at 7:34 pm my beautiful baby boy was born via C section due to labor complications. Honestly I know people say it feels like bad period cramps and it does to a point but you will be able to tell the difference. They come hard and fast like clockwork! I knew without a doubt that I was in labor and the difference between the braxton hicks! I never dilated, the baby never dropped and I never had any effacement, my mucous plug popped out, water broke and it just went on from there. I felt contractions the whole night before, but they werent that bad, believe me YOU will KNOW when you are in labor (or at least I did) Good luck! and Congrats being a mom is the greatest gift in the whole world!
In my first pregnancy, my water broke at 2 a.m., no previous Braxton-Hicks at all. He was delivered 12 hours later. With my second baby I passed edd by 10 days, and went to induction, and delivered baby in 4 hours
Good luck!
So, in your case, anything could happen, i. e. expect it anytime
