how long after my cervix is 1cm will it take for me to begin active labor?

I’m pregnant for the first time and I’m due on the 19th. I can’t wait and I’m hoping it might come sooner. My doctor said my cervix was 1cm about 2 weeks ago, so how long does it take to start active labor at like 4cm?

It is impossible to say how long it will be before you go into labor. With my 3rd pregnancy, I was dilated for 7 weeks before my daughter was born. It is more common for first pregnancies not to dilate as long before beginning active labor, but that is not always the case. This is a difficult time of the pregnancy, you are tired of being pregnant and wish that baby would get here already! Get lots of rest, walk when you can, eat healthy and stay hydrated.
It could be today or it could be weeks from now. I was 1 cm for a while before went. My best friend was 1 cm for about a month I believe. Best of luck. It will happen when it happens!
I was 2 centimeters dialated for 3 weeks,and i had to be induced because it wasnt going any faster and i was already 41 weeks pregnant past my due date…so it could still be a couple weeks away,u wont go into active labor until 3-4 or if u are induced it wont be until u reach at least 3…good luck!
With my 3rd baby, I was at a 3 for over a month. It could be anytime. I wish there was some magic way of knowing when your body will kick in to gear, but it’s a waiting game.

In my birthing class they said that the cervix can dialate over a long period of time, or very quickly.
It is just one of those things that you can’t calculate. It depends on each woman and her body. I know that is not the answer that you wanted to hear.
My Sister went from 1-4 in about 5 hours with her second.
I would be anxious too! I am 39 weeks and find out if I am dialated today.

I was at a one for three weeks
It all depends on the baby and when it is ready to be born, I was in full labor and at 1cm i was in labor for 36 hours with that one I stayed at 1cm for about 30 hours. I was to tense to go any further, once I relaxed it came about naturally. good luck
well im 39 weeks and have been 3 cm for 2 weeks now so you never can tell!im thankfully going to be induced on sat!you could go into labor now or go over your due date!unfortunetly you never can tell!good luck!
