Will walking up and down stairs possibly help to induce my labor? What are some other methods besides sex, tea, and castor oil? How many of you actually went into labor becuase of walking?

I walked and shopped in and mall for 3hours( I used no elevators nor the steps) The mall in greater Philadelphia has o 1 level and everything is on the same floor. That was on a Saturday I went into labor 7am Monday morning. Oh I was already 2-3 centimeters and was told to be on bed rest.
i didnt i was outside walking the track on my due date trying to get that baby to come out then went it got dark outside we left there and went to the mall and walked for an hour or two and then went home and went to bed i gave up. i got induced a week later.
Truly all these things are myths…
Walking helps to speed up early labor, contractions that your already having it does not induce labor.
Its all about chemical balance and when your body releases the hormones that start labor, this isnt something that you can FORCE, without medical intervention such as Pitocin.
Your baby will come when HE’S ready and not a minute before.
when u are adimitted in hospital they will not allow you walk.In hospital you need to turn one side in the bed for 5 mins in right side and the turn left side for 5 mins in the bed.
Walking definitely works…however, it’s a matter of how much walking you need to be put into labor. And you don’t want to tire yourself out right before labor, so a marathon probably isn’t a good idea!
But, if you’re starting to dilate and efface, then walking will progress you. Walking for a mile or a little more probably is a good idea, and it will help you rest when you get home (hopefully it’ll work out some of the pregnancy kinks!)
I have been trying to eat a lot of pineapple, it helps with starting contractions….even if it doesn’t work for you, at least it’s healthy!
I dont think they work but the wives tales are:
Hot curry
Sweeping stairs
Any spicy food
Mild excercise (stretches) etc
