I had a VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean). But doing this depends on why you had to have cesarean. My emergency C-Section was necessary, as during a stress test the baby's heart rate (she's just turned 21) dropped dangerously low.

I fared well with the C-section, but far prefer natural birth given the choice, as with my youngest daughter who just turned 19.

Make sure you have all the facts about what happened. You may request the medical records from the hospital and see for yourself. if you feel your physician acted improperly and jeopardized your child's health, you should act on it. But again, make sure you have the facts first. There are a number of articles found upon googling "pitocin causing fetal distress". I have included one of them below.

Best wishes to you and baby.

This is common with pitocin induction. Ask your doctor why you were induced. This would be some important information for the future.

I went into labour and my contractions werent strong enough so they put me on pitocin yet in the end I had to get a csection.. no i have never seen the movie, i sort of feel rushed into having a csection but I guess the doctor knows best. And I researched and if you just had the bikini incision you should be okay for VBAC but everyone is different, csections suck..

my wife has had 2 c sections and we believe the doctors are now almost forcing women to have them because of the cost and natural birth is too slow for the docs to wait on.

Cole is 2 months, I just went through this! I was induced too and had a c section, but my pelvic never opened enough for Cole's head to fit.... so no matter what I will always have to have a c section because of my build he said. I think I would rather have a c section anyways, even after all the pain, my scar is no thicker that a strand of hair! looks great!

I'm so sorry. That is quite common, unfortunately. I was pushed into a C-section without even being allowed to labor; my dr bullied me like mad! :( I was terrified and didnt know what to do. If given the chance again I would have stood up to him. He was such a creep!
I am NOT having another C-section unless it's needed to save me or my baby. My second child is due this October, and I'm planning a home water birth! I am really excited!
Good luck to you with all future births honey. Do your research and stand up for yourself and your rights! ;)

i would say 7 out of 10 inductions end up in csection because doctors induce for their own reasons. mothers are typically so excited to have the baby they dont even realize why they are being induced and they dont see that there is no medical need for it. most ob's start scheduling your induction long before the due date even arrives. example: a girlfriend of mine is due the 3rd of july, her doctor already has an induction scheduled for the 6th. its crazy!

I was induced at 37 1/2 weeks with my twins. I was feeling no contractions at all, even though when they broke my waters I was dialated to a 6. I was given some pitocin to make the contractions stronger. When I dialted to a 9 and about ready to push, our daughters heartrate droped down below 60. I was rushed, and I mean rushed, in for an emergency c-section. Thank god they moved so fast, we almost lost our daughter.

I can tell you that my recovery time and the pain from having an emergency c-section was pure he**. They had no time to prep me or nothing. It was a knock me out procedure and cut me open fast. I hear its better to have one scheduled or a vaginal birth.

As far as having another c-section after your first one, some doctors will do a VBAC(vaginal birth after Csection) where some wont. Its mostly up to the doctor delivering if they will do that or not.
