sex and inducing labor?

   have lots of sex and then go for a long walk…that will do the trick.

   It doesnt mean that you will necessarily go passed your due date if you werent dialated at your appointment. Sometimes labor comes on all of a sudden, and you go from 0 to 10 in a matter of hours. Same goes for being dialated.. you can stay dilated at 2 or 3 cm for weeks and still go over due. It all depends on your body and your baby. You may not ever lose your mucous plug, but then again you might.. again it differs from person. As far and inducing labor with sex, some women swear by it. Sperm has natural prostaglandins in it that help ripen the cervix and prepare it for labor and birth, also having an orgasm can release a hormone called oxytocin which can cause uterine contractions that may or may not move labor along.    well first let me say congratulations , now to your questions…… when i was pregnate with my daugther we did everything under the moon to induce labor (it was summer and 90 degrees out) sex helped but i also would get up early and walk around the mall. just b/c you weren’t dialted any at your last appointment doesn’t mean that you won’t be when you go back in . i’ve never heard that you may not know about when you loose your mucus plug with my daughter i lost mine about a week before she came. and my son was 7 weeks early so i didn’t lose it with him. good luck with the new baby they are truley a blessing

   It’s really hard to predict if you will go past your due date. You can try acupressure once you are 40 weeks to speed things along.
